Goal 4. Quality Education
The Problem
CEOWORLD Magazine compiled a report in 2020 of the world’s best countries for the education system and was dominated by the advanced economies as expected. The Magazine measured the countries across two key categories-Quality and opportunities- both of which are lacking in the educational system of many emerging countries of the world.
Sadly, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) backs the findings of the CEOWORLD Magazine reporting that of all regions, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rates of children excluded from education. More than one-fifth of children between the ages of about 6 and 11 are out of school, followed by one-third of youth between the ages of about 12 and 14. Also, almost 60% of youth between the ages of about 15 and 17 are not in school.
Our Approach
The mission and vision of the Zarttalent by ISEF are to empower and connect the underserved to global opportunities. The target age grade for our technical and IT training is between 15 and 22. This age falls within the number of students who are out of school. What is quality education? It is the education that trains you on key skills that will enable them to become employable and compete in the future of work. This type of education is not available in less developed countries. It is hinged on theory. For the Zarttalent by ISEF, we are taking the bull by the horn by offering quality education to the underserved. We trained students on competitive IT courses for 6 months. Upon completion of the courses, they enter into a 1-year internship program with ZartTech where they work on projects and acquire key experiences. After this, they will transition to become junior developers and are connected to international jobs. All these would be done for FREE. The Zarttalent by ISEF innovation is the time and money put in to provide quality education to the underserved and getting them out of poverty.
For the everyday university, you spend 5 years regardless of whether it is private or public to become a junior developer and everything that is done is theoretical. All this you can do in less than two years with Zarttalent, become a developer, and make the same amount of money as someone that attended a university. A 16-year-old would be 21 if he or she attends a university to study an IT course and the quality will be questionable while another 16-year-old that attends Zarttalent can complete the same course and become a developer at the age of 171/2. The latter will perform better due to the effective training delivered by senior IT experts who have worked on projects in the US, UK, and the Netherlands, robust syllabus, and the internship.
